Real People Don't Diet
Vacation 2009
Photos from our
trip to
Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown (all in Virginia) as well
as a quick stop at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.
Here we are, Chris
and Cate,
in the stocks after a punishing trial. Our kids couldn't wait
to
take this picture!
Mmmm...the main
course at a
typical Williamsburg gentleman's home. Delish, eh?
Authentic colonial
dinner at
the Governor's palace. All these foods are made daily,
on-site,
by historian chefs.
Some
colonial danties
during teatime at the Wythe house.
Discussing
Yorktown siege
strategy with General George Washington in the parlor of the Wythe
house (after teatime, of course). That's his cell phone on
the
table. Just kidding.
I don't know about
you, but I'd
rather go grocery shopping than do this every day!
A
typical soldier's meal at
the Yorktown encampment. Salted beef and biscuit.
They were
also cooking a meat/bean stew in the outdoor kitchen.
We had a chance to
enjoy an
interactive chat with Thomas Jefferson.

Child's kitchen in
Cambridge, MA on display (competely intact) at the Smithsonian.
We love Chick-Fil-A! Ate breakfast AND lunch there on our way
home. This is the Chick-Fil-A in New Jersey we managed to
find
(at a mall).
